Safeguarding over the festive period

NDNA offices close at 5pm on Friday 21 December and re-open at 9am on Wednesday 2 January 2019.  If you have any safeguarding concerns, it is important that you follow your local safeguarding procedures. Contact your local authority children’s services/social workers to speak to the off-duty social worker. See here for media enquiries.  

Flat funding rate amounts to cuts in funding

The latest Early Years National Funding Rates have confirmed that rates will remain stagnant for 2019/20. The rates will be brought in from April despite the Chancellor's Budget analysis showing that funding shortfalls do not cover increased outgoings.

NDNA England

The Low Pay Commission has announced above-inflation increases for Living Wages and Minimum Wages across the UK. For members in England, NDNA has been clear that flat Government funding at a time of rising costs will threaten the sustainability of nurseries.

NDNA Scotland’s Policy Manager, Jane Malcolm, met with Audit Scotland to raise concerns about capital spending and push for a review into how money is being spent. It is Audit Scotland’s role to give independent assurance to the people of Scotland that public money is spent properly, efficiently and effectively.
