30 hours referendum: are you in or out?

NDNA is asking English nurseries whether they intend to offer 30 funded hours for three and four-year-olds from September.

In NDNA’s annual nursery survey carried out earlier this year, one fifth of nurseries were not planning on offering any 30-hour funded places, with a third still undecided.

NDNA’s Chief Executive Purnima Tanuku OBE said: “With just eight weeks to go before the 2015 election pledge is rolled out across England, we are asking all nurseries both members and non- members whether it’s a yes or a no.

“We are also asking whether they are limiting places at their nursery. Some nurseries may agree to do this, but can only afford to offer a few places to limit their losses. If this is true, how are they going to decide who can receive these places?

“We expect the figures to vary from region to region, so we are also asking nurseries to say which local authority they are based in.

“This straw poll will just run for a week so we can get the results out before the summer holidays, which is why we have kept it very short. There are just three questions and an option to give contact details.

“Please share this with other nurseries in your network so we can build up the most accurate picture possible.”
