Get up to date on all the sector news at NDNA’s free regional events this autumn

Member nurseries receive complimentary seats at the afternoon get-togethers packed with insightful presentations and exhibition stands.
And a limited number of free places are being made available to non-member nurseries to provide a taster of the benefits of membership.
Tuesday 19 September – London
Wednesday 20 September – Taunton
Tuesday 26 September – Canterbury
Wednesday 27 September – Chelmsford
Wednesday 1 November – Glasgow
Wednesday 8 November – Wrexham.
Members can also attend the Annual Meeting of the National Membership Council on Wednesday 13 September in Huddersfield.
Purnima Tanuku OBE, Chief Executive of National Day Nurseries Association, said: “Following on from the enormous amount of media coverage that NDNA has generated over the last few weeks to raise awareness of the issues with 30 hours funded childcare, this is a key opportunity for all nursery owners and managers to get up to date on childcare and early years policy across England.
“Come along to network with your colleagues, browse stands from NDNA’s partners and talk about what’s happening where you are.
“Also important is the opportunity to offer your point of view on sector developments to help NDNA to campaign on your behalf for a better deal for your nurseries and the families you serve.
“Most nurseries have concerns about offering expanded free childcare so this will be a good opportunity to share your worries and discuss the issues together.
“Thousands of members came along to our events last year and we are expecting a similar response this year.”
In addition to Purnima’s national update, in England there will be a presentation about NDNA’s new Early Years Business Zone which is an online platform with analysis tools and expert advice which is free to all early years businesses.
The Wales member event will have the latest update on the Welsh Government’s Early Years and Childcare Workforce plan as well as an update on the development of the new qualifications for the early years and childcare sector in Wales.
In Scotland there will several sessions including Stephanie Dodds, Network Chair, East and Midlothian, speaking about presenting her petition on Business Rates to the Holyrood Public Petitions Committee. Delegates can also find out about Better Mealtimes: Encouraging Children to Enjoy Healthy Food and an interesting presentation from Fiona MacRae, NDNA Network member about the intergenerational project at her nursery, Ankerville House Nursery in Tain.
Delegates also have the option of booking for an annual safeguarding briefing, held each morning in the same venue, before the afternoon events in England.
Further regional events in the north of England, and in Scotland and Wales, take place in the spring months.
