Positive Attachment

Strategies to support children to develop positive attachments following the restrictions of lockdown

Course details

Duration: Half day

Who should attend: Early years practitioners.

What will I learn

Although many early years settings remained open throughout the pandemic, the legislation around social distancing, key worker children, bubble mixing and isolation has significantly impacted on babies and children.

These restrictions made it difficult for some children to form the positive attachments in their early years that can prove so important for their development and wellbeing.

Such children may be experiencing attachment difficulties and this course will equip practitioners with the strategies to support those children who need it most.

Course key topics

  • Attachment theory
  • Factors that affect attachment and the impact on children in the early years
  • Practical strategies to support children with attachment difficulties
  • How to support children and their families through high quality interactions
