NDNA SEND Champions

NDNA recognises the challenges settings can face with supporting Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

The latest EYFS ProfilSEND Champions logoe results showed that children with SEN need more support in the early years - just 23% of pupils with SEN achieved a good level of development in 2015/16; this is 52% lower than pupils without SEN (75%).

NDNA's SEND Champions programme will help to build the confidence and skills of your practitioners in SEND provision.

  • Includes structured activities and online training
  • It is led by your 'champion' member of staff
  • Builds your practitioners' confidence in SEND provision, to further support children with additional needs at your setting
  • It is initially a year-long programme, with the option to extend.

Testimonial:

“There were new ideas that could easily be of interest to all children. Many have now been implemented into our daily planning and activities. We also have an understanding of how environmental noise can impact a child’s well-being and have become aware of the acoustics and the impact it can have on emotions.”
- Deborah Cobb, the Voyager Academy Nursery and SEND Champion
