NDNA SEND Champions

NDNA recognises the challenges settings can face with supporting Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

The latest EYFS Profile results showed that children with SEND need more support in the early years - with just 26% of SEN pupils achieving a 'good level of development' compared with 75% of of those pupils with no identified SEND.

NDNA's SEND Champions programme will help to build the confidence and skills of your practitioners through structured activities and online training.

It is led by your 'champion' member of staff and builds your practitioners' confidence in SEND provision, to further support children with additional needs at your setting. It is initially a year-long programme, with the option to extend.

Our Champions programmes are CPD UK certified, so they’ll count towards your continuing professional development too!

Testimonial:

“There were new ideas that could easily be of interest to all children. Many have now been implemented into our daily planning and activities. We also have an understanding of how environmental noise can impact a child’s well-being and have become aware of the acoustics and the impact it can have on emotions.”
- Deborah Cobb, the Voyager Academy Nursery and SEND Champion
