General Election: Nurseries, let's get it right for early years

Nurseries and parents need the next government to get it right for early years.

£600million of unspent funding earmarked for childcare has been returned to government. While rates paid by government don't cover the cost of providing childcare.

Business rates in England have become a crippling tax on the education of our youngest children. Our schools and private nurseries in Scotland and Wales don’t pay it so why should you?

The complex system of government funding is creating a huge admin burden for nurseries.

We need you to help us change the system.

Join our campaign to fight for:

  1. The right funding for childcare places
  2. Zero business rates for nurseries in England
  3. A single childcare account for parents.
So act now. Tell your local election candidates why childcare matters. Tell them to tackle the injustices in the current system. Before it’s too late.

See our round up of all party pledges here.
