General Election: Parents, let's get it right for early years

Parents and nurseries need the next government to get it right for early years.

£600million of unspent funding earmarked for our children has been returned to government. While the rates paid by government don't cover the cost of providing childcare. Nursery closures have increased since the Government brought in 30 hours and business rates are crippling nurseries near you and, in turn, the quality of your child's learning.

Why should your child’s learning suffer?

We know it's hard for your to keep track of your childcare subsidies from government and re-register each term too.

So we need you to help us change the system. Join our campaign to fight for:

  1. The right funding to ensure childcare places are available
  2. Zero business rates for nurseries in England
  3. A single childcare account for parents.

So act now. Tell your local candidate that your child’s learning matters.

Act now

Three things you can do now to take action:

  1. Download our quick guide below to getting it right for early years and when your candidate comes knocking, tell them that your child's learning matters
  2. Watch and share our video now and urge fellow parents, friends and colleagues to take action too
  3. Together we are stronger - tell your nursery about our free support for them at www.ndna.org.uk/general-election
