Tax Free Childcare glitch
Last week, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) experienced a technical glitch leaving nursery providers unable to identify parent’s transactions as payment reference numbers were incomplete.
As soon as we became aware of the issue we raised it with HMRC officials as NDNA regularly provides sector feedback on the delivery of this system. They confirmed there had been a problem with the information provided on payments made to providers from parents’ childcare accounts between 16-20 August. All childcare providers affected should have now received their correct payment reference numbers.
According to HMRC, the issue has been fixed for future payments so there shouldn’t be further problems.
