Welsh Government to trial baby bundles in Swansea
Julie Morgan AM, Deputy Minister for Health and Social Services, has released a written statement revealing a baby bundle pilot scheme.
Swansea Bay University Health Board will trial the bundles and see approximately 200 delivered next summer.
The bundle is to be viewed as a ‘welcome to the world’ gift from the Welsh Government and intended to promote an equal playing field for parents by reducing expenditure on essentials for their newborns. The bundles will also include useful information for new parents and allow health professionals to initiate important conversations around breastfeeding, safe-sleeping, etc.
The Deputy Minister will provide more updates as the pilot progresses.
