Immunisations - practice guide
Immunisations - practice guide
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) 3.42 states: ´The provider must promote the good health
of children attending the setting. They must have a procedure, discussed with parents and/or
carers, for responding to children who are ill’.

The intention here is not to be prescriptive about what a provider should or shouldn’t do in terms
of stating children must be immunised but to have plans in place (e.g. agreements with parents for
children to be collected if they become ill). This factsheet aims to guide you with best practice ideas for immunisation in your setting.
