Literacy Champions programme - what is included?

As a Literacy Champion you will go through a process of reflection and development with your literacy practice.

  • You will be required to upload your cohort tracker for each child's literacy development so that on completion of the programme it will be clear as to whether progression has been made
  • Complete 4 audits around your literacy practice, knowledge and confidence followed by 4 action plans to develop your practice across all areas of literacy
  •  You will then have access to a whole host of support materials on our dedicated online Literacy Champions development zone area.
  • Online training courses for the champion and up to 6 of your staff
  • Webinars on a range of literacy related topics for you to watch at a time convenient to yourself and your team
  • Join our Literacy Champions Facebook group to network with other champions and share ideas
  • Upon completing the programme you will receive a certificate of participation to demonstrate your dedication to developing Literacy provision for the children at your setting.

Support from an early years adviser

As a Literacy Champion you will also have access to one-to-one support from an NDNA early years adviser. Your adviser is on hand via the telephone and emails to support you through the process.

Our early years adviser also runs a free and exclusive Facebook support group for all Champions to share best practice and useful links. You can also keep up-to-date on the Literacy Champions Twitter page.
